Gazetted Holidays List 2025

Official holidays, known as Gazetted Holidays, are designated for central government offices and industrial establishments. Each year in June, the Central Government publishes a detailed holiday calendar for the upcoming year. This calendar is circulated via an official memorandum from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), delineating Gazetted Holidays and Restricted Holidays as distinct categories. The primary list includes 14 mandatory holidays, with an additional option for individuals to choose three holidays from this selection, totaling 17 days of leave. These 17 days collectively represent the Gazetted Holidays acknowledged for employees of the Central government.

Restricted Holidays List 2025

The official notification from the Central Government contains an additional set of holidays named Restricted Holidays. These holidays provide employees with the option to select two days off according to their individual preferences. With India’s rich diversity of religions and festivals, employees are granted the freedom to avail leave during their respective religious celebrations. The Restricted Holidays calendar consists of more than 30 holidays, totaling up to 45 in number.
