Bihar RTE 25 Admission Reimbursement Status
Section 12(2) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act delineates the procedure for compensating Private Unaided Schools for enrolling students under Section 12(1)(c). This compensation is calculated based on the per-child expenditure specified by the State or the actual tuition fees charged by the school, whichever amount is lower. The reimbursement assists in covering the costs associated with 25% admissions in private unaided schools as stipulated in Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act, and has been administered under Samagra Shiksha since the fiscal year 2014-15 (previously under SSA).

The GYANDEEP portal functions as a platform for school registration under the RTE, examination of school-specific data at the district level, approval of reimbursement amounts, and management of all associated processes such as disbursements.
Commencing from the academic year 2025-26, parents will have the opportunity to nominate their children for admission to authorized private schools under Section 12(1)(c) through this portal.
The selection process will be based on applications received, in accordance with the directives detailed in Office Number 505 dated June 15, 2023.
